Job Description

What does this team do? This role sits within the Risk & Controls Consulting Persona. For a reminder, please follow the link to the website: Early Careers Consulting | Deloitte UK. In today's rapidly evolving business landscape, cybersecurity is paramount. The increasing frequency and severity of disruptions across a range of trajectories, from cyber-attacks, supply chains to geopolitical events, highlight that technology solutions are just one part of a comprehensive approach to managing risk. This is especially true when considering the interconnectedness of businesses and their extended enterprise, where vulnerabilities in one area can quickly escalate across the network. Within the Cyber team and its multi-faceted business, we help clients to: Understand their technology landscape and cyber risk exposure , including the complex interactions between customers, vendors, third-party service providers and software ecosystems that are critical to success in today's connected world. Prioritise and implement cyber controls and technology solutions to manage risk, from identity and access management and network security through to core technology implementation, penetration testing and emerging cyber capabilities, enabling organisations to innovate and grow securely. Navigate disruption, transformation and change by building resilience to strategic risks, crises, issues and cyber incidents, while meeting evolving regulatory and compliance requirements across global markets. Secure and optimise their extended enterprise through a combination of advisory, software and implementation services, helping organisations manage risk, unlock value and strengthen trust across their broader ecosystem. Not only do we want our clients to survive in the digital world, but also to thrive by giving confidence to customers, investors and business partners alike. Whatever your area of focus, you can be sure you’ll work with innovative tools, cutting-edge technologies, fascinating industries, and experts from across the Deloitte business. What skills and academic qualifications do I need? No prior Cyber experience is required, however knowledge of current affairs and emerging trends is beneficial. You’ll need to have obtained or be studying towards a minimum of 104 UCAS points (if gained after 2017 – or 260 if before) from your top 3 A-Levels. We have identified 10 core skills that are essential to all our roles in Early Careers. To learn more about these skills and their detailed descriptions, please visit the 'Discover What We Look For' section in our Candidate Zone. This is a degree apprenticeship; therefore, you need to have not already completed a degree. What kind of work will I do? The projects in Cyber are varied as we are here to provide solutions to the most challenging problems our clients are facing across the business. Whether you get involved in the strategic or technical side of Cyber (or both!) you’ll be working on all kinds of challenging projects to mitigate cyber, reputational, and organisational risks. From inspecting third-party compliance to identifying vulnerable routes into client networks to understanding how to protect live events from terrorist attacks, your work will keep clients safe, secure and one step ahead. You will develop skills to establish, run and manage projects, directly advise clients, solve complex problems to deliver quality results. We believe in providing our Brightstart students with a ‘live experience’ as soon as they land in the business, which means assigning you to a live client project, engaging with the team and the client. Tasks will vary across each project, but will include (and are not limited to): Developing presentations to communicate insights. Understanding and solving your client’s problems. Project management tasks, such as planning, tracking deadlines, and preparing materials. Organising and analysing data and creating clear reports. Researching issues for our team. Reviewing contracts and documents. Where will I work? At Deloitte we recognise how important face-to-face interaction is for your development in a new role. We also understand that our people need flexibility, which is why we operate a hybrid system, with a combination of office and home working. If you’re in a client-facing role, you might be expected to attend client sites on certain days, while your meetings will be a mix of online and in-person events. Please note your final assessment and induction will also be in-person, to give you the opportunity to network and build relationships. All our workspaces are accessible, however, if you require further flexibility due to a health condition or caring responsibilities, please discuss this with our team. You can find further information on our family friendly, flexible working here. How will I develop? Joining on this programme, you will be joining alongside a large cohort of like-minded colleagues. At the start of your programme you will be part of an indu
