Our service combines accessible social and enterprising activities with individualised support that enables people to make a positive contribution to their community.We are currently looking for a full time Horticultural Support Worker to join our Growing Together Project.Role OverviewThe Horticultural Support Worker will help create, facilitate and maintain positive, person centred horticultural activities across multiple sites including our Garden Centre, Allotments, Gardening Unit and community spaces. You’ll support adults with learning disabilities to develop skills, confidence and inclusion through practical gardening, enterprise work and community engagement.The successful candidate will provide high quality support, encourage participation in group activities, and help people gain skills through structured horticultural tasks. You should have experience supporting individuals, working with the public, and ideally some knowledge of small plant/equipment operation. Most importantly, you should bring a positive, empowering approach to supporting people with learning disabilities.Key DutiesDeliver practical gardening activities across all sitesProvide person centred support using trauma informed practice and PBSSupport communication using adapted and accessible methodsMaintain gardens, tools, equipment and structured logsRecord learning digitally (StoriiCare, Skills Academy)Support public facing events, demonstrations and community partnershipsAssist with volunteer recruitment and supervisionFollow health & safety procedures including lone working, PPE and manual handling.Benefits33 days leave (including public holidays), rising to 38 days after five yearsEnhanced pension schemeFree life coverFree access to counselling and wellbeing servicesSupport for training and professional developmentConsistent working pattern: Monday–Friday, 9am–4pmSuccessful candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme.
