Job Description

Could you help students overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential? At Peterborough College, we're looking for a compassionate and motivated Learning Support Worker to join our dedicated Additional Learning Support team. This is an incredibly rewarding role where you'll provide personalised support to students with learning difficulties, disabilities and Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), helping them develop confidence, independence and the skills they need to succeed both in education and beyond. What you'll be doing As a Learning Support Worker, you will: Support students in lessons by adapting and simplifying learning activities to aid understanding. Encourage engagement, motivation and positive participation in learning. Deliver tailored support in line with EHCP outcomes, support plans and risk assessments. Help students develop independence, confidence and self-esteem. Support literacy, numeracy and study skills, including note-taking, organisation and time management. Promote the effective use of assistive technology and learning resources. Monitor and record student progress, contributing to reviews and support planning. Provide exam support as a reader, scribe, prompt or invigilator when required. Accompany students on educational visits and work experience placements as needed. Provide physical and mobility support where appropriate. Work collaboratively with teaching staff, families and support teams to ensure the best outcomes for learners.
