School Care Assistant Grade 4, Pay Point 5 (£12.85 per hour) 25 hours per week | 38 weeks per year Initially Fixed Term until July 2027 Start Date: As soon as possible We are looking to appoint a caring, enthusiastic and dependable School Care Assistant to join our team at Glen Hills Primary School. This is a rewarding role at the heart of school life, supporting pupils with their wellbeing, personal care and day-to-day needs, whilst also helping with a range of school support activities. Every day is different, and the role would suit someone who is caring, approachable and dedicated to supporting children, including those who may require personal or intimate care. You will enjoy building positive relationships and helping every child feel safe, valued and able to thrive. We are looking for someone who: Is kind, patient and passionate about supporting children Has experience of working with children or individuals with care needs Builds positive relationships with pupils, families and colleagues Is flexible, organised and able to work as part of a team Can maintain high standards of care, confidentiality and professionalism Has a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children The role will include: Supporting pupils with personal care, hygiene and wellbeing needs Assisting with medication administration and basic medical support following training Supporting children during lunch and break times Encouraging positive behaviour, independence and social interaction Providing reading support and helping pupils engage in school activities Organising resources and helping to maintain safe, welcoming learning environments Supporting with general school duties including lost property, displays, library organisation and administrative tasks where appropriate Providing first aid support as required We can offer: Friendly, supportive and experienced colleagues Well-behaved children who are keen to learn Ongoing training and professional development A strong commitment to staff wellbeing The opportunity to make a real difference to children's lives every day A welcoming school community where everyone is valued The closing date for the position is 08 October 2026 11:59PM Interviews will take place on 14 October 2026
