Job Description
This is an opportunity to start a long-term career in joinery with a growing North Devon business. You will learn in our Barnstaple workshop alongside experienced joiners and production staff while completing the Level 2 Architectural Joiner apprenticeship through Exeter College. The role offers hands-on experience across bespoke commercial joinery, from interpreting drawings and setting out through to machining, assembly, ironmongery and finished products. Duties include; • Learn to interpret drawings, specifications and cutting lists. • Develop safe and accurate use of hand tools and power tools. • Learn setting out, marking out and core woodworking joints. • Assist with the manufacture and assembly of bespoke joinery products. • Develop competence using fixed woodworking machinery under supervision. • Fit ironmongery such as hinges, locks, handles, latches and drawer runners. • Help maintain a safe, clean and organised workshop. • Follow health, safety, environmental and quality procedures, including PPE, RPE and extraction requirements. • Build and maintain the workplace evidence required for the apprenticeship. • Attend Exeter College for block-release training and take part in progress reviews and the End Point Assessment.
