Engineering Maintenance Technician Apprentice - Single Discipline Level 3

Salary £25000 per year Duration 42 months Advert opening date 08/09/2026 Advert closing date 18/09/2026 A practical, adaptable apprentice engineer required responsible for maintaining and repairing manufacturing equipment. You'll carry out preventative maintenance, fault-finding and repairs across mechanical, electrical and control systems, ensuring safe, reliable production while developing broad maintenance skills. We are looking for a curious, practical and adaptable Engineering Maintenance Technician apprentice to maintain plant, tooling, equipment and production systems across our manufacturing operations. You will support planned and preventative maintenance, respond to breakdowns, diagnose faults, complete repairs and help optimise the safe, reliable and efficient operation of our assets You will gain hands-on experience in mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and control systems, including fault finding, component replacement, equipment inspection, condition monitoring and maintenance planning You will prepare for and accept jobs, carry out work safely to the required standard, return equipment to service and complete accurate maintenance records The role will suit someone who enjoys practical engineering, understands the importance of safe and reliable production equipment, and wants to develop into a well-rounded maintenance technician. You will work with maintenance technicians, engineers, production teams, Quality and other internal or external stakeholders, completing tasks independently or as part of a team depending on the work Desirable qualities: Knowledge or strong interest in engineering maintenance, manufacturing equipment and practical fault finding Ability to interpret engineering drawings and maintenance procedures, technical manuals, equipment specifications Interest in mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and control systems used in industrial plant and production equipment IT literate and confident using maintenance management systems, asset records, spreadsheets and technical documentation tools Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to coordinate work and equipment status with Maintenance, Production, Quality and Engineering colleagues Able to respond effectively to changing priorities, production needs, project requirements, and unplanned equipment issues Entry requirements HRUC will only consider those applicants that have already achieved GSCE at Grade 9-4/A-C Including Maths and English or the equivalent. Training to be provided Apprentices will be required to attend college at least x1 day per week either at Uxbridge Campus completing necessary mandatory training and units associated with the apprenticeship. The apprentice will be required to complete: • Work towards gaining a full Qualification. • Employment Rights and Responsibilities. • Skills, Knowledge, and Behaviours. • Standard and End Point Assessment. • Functional Skills in English, Maths, and ICT (if required).
