About The Role We are looking for a technically proficient Junior Game Programmer to join the Realityjam studio team as an apprentice, contributing to the development of the MMO game, 5th Dimension. This is a fully remote, part-time, paid apprenticeship offering structured learning and direct involvement in shipping live multiplayer titles. You will work primarily in C# within Unity, contributing to gameplay systems, multiplayer logic, tooling, and engine integration across the codebase for multiplayer title. 5th Dimension. The apprenticeship training that supports this role is a level 7, high-intensity vocational training pathway that requires 2 days per week of technically complex educational work and accordingly some pre-existing knowledge and experience of coding in C sharp / .NET (in a professional environment) is required. Level 7 is the highest level apprenticeship qualification available in the UK. Accordingly, this role is not suitable for applicants who have not had some experience in a professional environment. In tandem with the apprenticeship qualification, the successful applicant will also qualify for a Unity Associate Certification at the completion of the apprenticeship, which adds an additional, internationally recognized qualification layer to the outcomes produced by this role. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain gameplay systems and features in C# within the Unity engine. Implement and debug multiplayer functionality using Unity's networking frameworks. Work with the tech art and design teams to integrate assets and systems into the game pipeline. Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code in line with studio standards. Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices across the team. Identify and resolve bugs, performance issues, and technical debt as directed. Engage with the apprenticeship programme's learning and assessment requirements.
