We are a diverse Multi-Academy Trust (MAT) in the South West, with 36 academies spanning urban, inner-city, suburban, rural, and coastal communities. Our academies are organised into geographically local clusters serving Bristol, South Gloucestershire, Gloucestershire, North Somerset, and Somerset. We are currently looking for an Apprentice Teaching Assistant to join Wallscourt Primary Academy in North Bristol. Teaching Assistants work within our primary schools to support pupils and class teachers, helping to enhance learning through both individual and small-group support. They ensure pupils understand the work set, are clear about their learning objectives, and remain focused on their tasks so they can make good progress. Promoting self-belief, social inclusion, and high self-esteem is an integral part of the role, helping to ensure pupils thrive in a positive, nurturing, and safe learning environment. To apply for this opportunity, you will need: excellent verbal communication skills for motivating children to learn active listening skills to understand the children’s' needs to be flexible and open to change for working on different activities to enjoy working with other people the ability to teach pupils how to do something the ability to create the best conditions for learning or teaching new things to be able to carry out basic tasks on a computer or hand-held device Some work experience or voluntary work with children is highly recommended. Entry Requirements: Typically candidates will have a minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade C or 4/5 and above, including Maths and English. Candidates without maths or English may be offered a pre-apprenticeship or an extended apprenticeship duration, based on their initial assessment results. Apprentices without English and Maths at Level 2 must achieve these prior to taking the End Point Assessment. Salary Information: Successful applicants will receive an hourly rate of £8.00 during the first year of the apprenticeship. After the first year, pay will increase to the applicable National Minimum Wage, based on the apprentice's age (19 or over), for the remainder of the apprenticeship.
