Leeds City College are recruiting for an Apprentice Teacher - Hairdressing to join our team in the School of Hair, Beauty and Media Make-up, based at Printworks campus. We are looking for a candidate with industry experience and are able to demonstrate skills in meeting learner needs and monitoring attendance to ensure successful outcomes. This is a fantastic opportunity to work towards becoming a qualified teacher. You will receive support, guidance, and all the necessary tools to complete your apprenticeship whilst gaining valuable experience on the job. On completion of your apprenticeship, you will gain a Level 5 Certificate in Education. The course is provided internally through University Centre Leeds. As this is an apprenticeship role, it is fixed term for the length of the apprenticeship - 24 months. What You Will Do Plan, prepare and develop effective schemes of work, lesson plans and high-quality teaching and learning resources, including engaging online learning materials. Deliver inspiring and inclusive teaching sessions across the curriculum, using a wide range of innovative and effective teaching, learning and assessment methods. Design and deliver effective assessment activities, providing timely, constructive and developmental feedback that motivates learners and supports them to improve and achieve their full potential. Build positive, professional relationships with learners, providing appropriate support, encouragement and guidance to promote confidence, self-esteem, progress and successful outcomes. Work collaboratively as part of a friendly, supportive and committed team, contributing to a positive learning environment and sharing a passion for developing learners’ skills, confidence, abilities and progression. About You You will be willing to work towards L5 Teaching Qualification (e.g. Cert Ed, PGCE) You will hold relevant vocational qualifications in the subject area English and Maths at Level 2 or above and a willingness to improve in one or both disciplines to level 3 or above You will have relevant up to date subject knowledge and recent delivery in the Further Education or school sector. Relevant experience, knowledge and skills to enable delivery of a range of levels across the curriculum, which demonstrates active learning and differentiated teaching styles
