If you’ve also worked in the following roles, we’d also like to hear from you: Support Worker, Tenancy Support Worker, Supported Housing Officer, Housing Officer, Residential Support Worker, Community Support Worker, Care Support Worker, Resident Support Worker, Support Practitioner SALARY: £26,640 pro rata (Actual Salary, for 20 Hours per Week, £14,400 per annum) + Benefits LOCATION: Office based in Gravesend, Kent (DA12) – candidates will need to live within a commutable distance to Gravesend JOB TYPE: Part-Time, Permanent WORKING HOURS: 20 Hours per Week, Monday to Friday (flexible on days to work – will be discussed during interview) JOB OVERVIEW We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Housing Support Worker to join a supported accommodation service focused on helping residents move towards long-term independent living. As a Housing Support Worker, you will provide practical and emotional support, assisting individuals with tenancy sustainment, life skills and access to community services. You will work in a trauma informed way, promoting wellbeing, safety and independence. Working as a Housing Support Worker, you will support residents face-to-face and remotely, contributing to housing management, safeguarding, risk assessments and personalised support plans. The role involves working with external agencies to help residents achieve positive outcomes and maintain stable accommodation. DUTIES Your duties as the Housing Support Worker include: Provide Resident Support: Deliver day-to-day housing support to help residents build independence, confidence and stability Assist with Life Skills: Support residents with budgeting, cooking, cleaning and managing appointments Offer Emotional Support: Listen without judgement and help residents navigate personal challenges Develop Support Plans: Contribute to care plans, risk assessments and personalised support strategies Promote Safeguarding: Help maintain a safe, supportive living environment and follow safeguarding procedures Liaise with Agencies: Work with local authorities, landlords and partner services to support long-term housing outcomes Encourage Community Engagement: Support access to education, employment, wellbeing services and community activities Maintain Records: Keep accurate case notes, reports and documentation using relevant systems Conduct Audits: Support compliance with supported accommodation standards and organisational policies Respond to Incidents: Act appropriately in emergencies, following organisational procedures CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS ESSENTIAL Previous experience in support work, social care, housing support or a similar role Knowledge of housing legislation, benefits systems and tenancy processes Understanding of safeguarding, risk management and working with vulnerable individuals Strong IT skills, including case management systems and remote working tools Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-focused approach Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment Experience maintaining accurate records and producing clear reports Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload and meet DESIRABLE Experience delivering trauma informed support Experience working in a psychologically informed environment Confidence engaging with external stakeholders such as local authorities and support agencies BENEFITS Annual leave pro rata, increasing with service Birthday day off and option to buy additional annual leave Two paid Volunteer Days each year 5% employer pension contribution, matched by 5% employee contribution Healthcare Cash Plan and Life Assurance at 3 x salary Annual salary review Refer a Friend scheme Access to Benefit Hub with retail discounts, Cycle to Work scheme and additional voluntary benefits This role is subject to an Enhanced DBS check APPLY TODAY… By submitting your job application to us you are hereby giving us your express consent to submit your details to our Client for this purpose.
