Market 36 Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Facilities Maintenance Technician on behalf of our client based in Braintree, on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day maintenance of the site, carrying out planned and reactive maintenance, general building repairs, plumbing work and facilities projects. Working as part of a small facilities team, the successful candidate will ensure faults and maintenance requirements are dealt with safely and efficiently to minimise downtime. Roles & Responsibilities Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across the Braintree site. Complete general maintenance tasks and assist with facilities projects as required. Carry out plumbing work on water heaters, washroom sanitary equipment, catering services and drainage. Ensure all plumbing installation and maintenance work is carried out in accordance with relevant British Standards. Carry out general building fabric maintenance within office and factory areas, including painting, decorating, boarding, carpentry and replacement of fixtures and fittings. Respond to facilities faults and maintenance requests, ensuring work is appropriately prioritised and resolved in a timely manner. Carry out fault finding and troubleshooting across facilities and building systems. Work from complex system drawings and schematics where required. Identify and report damage, defects and major repairs required across the site. Clear blockages to toilets and drainage safely, ensuring the correct PPE and barriers are used. Follow safe working practices, including the development of task-specific risk assessments. Raise and work under permits to work and sanctions to test where required. Liaise with and escort third-party contractors when required to support the facilities team.
