Temporary Accounts Payable Clerk – Near Chelmsford – Up to £17 per hour Location: Near Chelmsford, Essex (Office-based) Rate: Up to £17 per hour Contract: Temporary (up to 3 months) Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:30pm Your new company A reputable and well-established organisation based near Chelmsford is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Clerk to join their busy finance team on a short-term temporary basis. You will be reporting directly to the Financial Controller and working alongside a knowledgeable and supportive team. Your new role As an Accounts Payable Clerk, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of the purchase ledger function. Your responsibilities will include: Processing high volumes of supplier invoices accurately and efficiently Matching, batching, and coding invoices Reconciling supplier statements and resolving discrepancies Preparing and processing payment runs Handling supplier queries in a timely and professional manner Supporting the wider finance team with ad hoc duties What you'll need to succeed Previous experience in an Accounts Payable or Purchase Ledger role Strong attention to detail and ability to manage high volumes of work Good communication skills and a proactive approach Competent Excel and finance system skills Ability to hit the ground running in a fast-paced environment What you'll get in return Competitive hourly rate of up to £17.50 per hour Opportunity to work within a collaborative finance team Short-term assignment with immediate start Valuable experience within a well-structured finance function What you need to do now
