Main duties of the job
You will oversee Year 4 and Year 6 medical students during their placements, helping them connect their learning with the realities of modern general practice. Through supervision, case discussion, feedback and teaching, you will support their development as confident, thoughtful and compassionate future doctors.
The post comprises seven sessions dedicated to educational supervision, alongside one or two clinical sessions per week. We welcome job-share applications from GPs interested in sharing the educational and clinical responsibilities.
During student placements, the emphasis will be on education: overseeing the students learning, reviewing clinical cases with them, discussing their assessments and management plans, and providing constructive feedback.
Between student placements, clinical cross-cover is expected to support the wider practice team.
