Job Title: Health & Safety Enforcement Officer Location: London Borough of Harrow, Harrow, Middlesex, HA3 8NT Payrate: 40:00 per hour Umbrella Location; Hybrid Working, Harrow, Middlesex, HA3 8NT Temporary Ongoing Contract with Potential Extension An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Health & Safety Enforcement Officer to join the London Borough of Harrow's Regulatory Services team. This is a temporary ongoing assignment offering hybrid working arrangements and the opportunity to play a key role in promoting health and safety compliance across the borough. About the Role You will be responsible for carrying out inspections and enforcement activities across a variety of commercial premises, retail businesses, and other workplaces, ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation. Working within a busy local authority environment, you will provide professional advice, investigate incidents and complaints, and take appropriate enforcement action where necessary. Key Responsibilities Conduct proactive and reactive inspections of commercial and retail premises. Assess compliance with Health & Safety legislation and associated regulations. Investigate accidents, complaints, dangerous occurrences, and workplace incidents. Prepare detailed reports, witness statements, and legal documentation. Issue enforcement notices where appropriate and support legal proceedings. Provide practical guidance and support to businesses on improving health and safety standards. Maintain accurate case records and contribute to service targets. Work collaboratively with internal departments, businesses, and external agencies.
