Job Description

What does this team do? In Supply Chain & Network Operations (SC&NO), we focus on helping our clients transform their supply chains to meet the challenges of an ever-changing world. From emerging technologies to shifting consumer behaviours, geopolitical uncertainty, sustainability goals, and digital disruption, supply chains are more important than ever for business success. We work with some of the world’s largest and most successful organisations, as well as major government bodies, to help them adapt and thrive. Whether it’s embracing new business models to drive growth, reducing costs, managing risks, or building resilient, sustainable supply chains, we enable our clients to achieve their goals. Our SC&NO team combines strategic thinking, advisory services, and cutting-edge technologies - including artificial intelligence - to reimagine supply chains end-to-end. We use AI to enhance decision-making, predict disruptions, and optimise operations, enabling organisations to stay ahead in an increasingly complex environment. What skills and academic qualifications do I need? This programme is for university students who are doing well academically and want to test their skills in the real world. You must be in the penultimate year of your course, or going onto a Masters. You need to be on track to achieve a predicted degree classification of 2:1 or above in any discipline. We have identified 10 core skills that are essential to all our roles in Early Careers. What kind of work will I do? As a Summer Vacation Scheme intern in SC&NO, you will work on large-scale transformation projects across a range of industries, gaining exposure to both business and technology challenges. As part of your role, you will: Develop an understanding of the key technologies and processes that enable supply chains and identify opportunities for transformation. Work with business and IT stakeholders to understand their challenges and translate these into actionable solutions. Help design and deliver bespoke analytics-driven solutions that enable clients to make informed decisions about their supply chains. Support the identification, configuration, and implementation of technologies that drive smart manufacturing and digital procurement, delivering tangible business value. Combine digital technologies with innovative thinking to solve client challenges and help them embrace supply chain transformation. Explore how supply chain solutions can improve sustainability and resilience, helping organisations meet their environmental and social goals. Throughout your time at Deloitte, you’ll work collaboratively with clients and colleagues, gaining hands-on experience in delivering impactful solutions that redefine how organisations operate. Where will I work? At Deloitte we recognise how important face-to-face interaction is for your development in a new role. We also understand that our people need flexibility, which is why we operate a hybrid system, with a combination of office and home working. If you’re in a client-facing role, you might be expected to attend client sites on certain days, while your meetings will be a mix of online and in-person events. Please note your final assessment and induction will also be in-person, to give you the opportunity to network and build relationships. All our workspaces are accessible, however, if you require further flexibility due to a health condition or caring responsibilities, please discuss this with our team. You can find further information on our family friendly, flexible working here. How will I develop? Professionally, an internship within the SC&NO programme will help you learn: What technologies organisations currently use and how they can transform those to better achieve their strategic objectives. How to interpret business strategic and objectives and transform those into requirements and solutions. What large-scale technology transformations look like.
