AFRIL’s Allotment of Refuge is an integrated group of growers and gardeners both with and without lived experience of migration. The Allotment provides a weekly wellbeing space for AFRIL members to come together with members of the broader community and learn about food growing, learn new skills and enjoy a shared lunch. The Allotment also grows crops which are distributed at AFRIL’s Foodbank. Our volunteers are crucial in supporting AFRIL staff to obtain the best outcomes for our clients, and this role will provide you with an opportunity to see a hands-on outdoor project, learn about growing and gain valuable insight into the immigration system and its many challenges.
