About you If you are an Estimator with experience in commercial fit out and refurbishment and you are looking for somewhere you can develop your career, this could be a really good opportunity. You will be joining a construction business based in Birchwood, Warrington, working on office and industrial fit out projects ranging from £50,000 to £3 million. You will be working closely with the Commercial Director, giving you the opportunity to learn from someone experienced while taking responsibility for your own tenders. They are looking for someone who is driven, hardworking and wants to progress. You do not need to be the finished article, although you should already have a good understanding of estimating within the construction industry and be confident putting together tenders. The salary is £40,000 to £50,000 per annum, depending on experience. Your experience You will need previous experience working as an Estimator within construction, ideally with a background in commercial fit out, office refurbishment or industrial fit out. You should be comfortable reviewing drawings and specifications, carrying out take offs, obtaining subcontractor and supplier quotations and building up costs for tender submissions. Experience pricing projects within the £50,000 to £3 million range would be particularly relevant, although you do not necessarily need to have worked across that entire range. You will need to be commercially aware and understand the importance of putting together competitive tenders while protecting the business from unnecessary risk. Just as importantly, they want someone with the right attitude. You should be organised, willing to put the work in and keen to improve your knowledge. You will be working closely with the Commercial Director, so there is a good opportunity to develop your estimating skills and take on more responsibility as you progress.
