Theatre Assistant | Theatres | Spire Parkway Hospital | Solihull, Birmingham | Private Hospital | 37.5hrs per week (shifts between 7.30am-8pm, Monday to Saturday)
Main duties of the job
As a Theatre Assistant, you will be an integral part of the perioperative team, supporting the smooth and efficient running of our operating theatres. Your responsibilities will include:
* Supporting the theatre team during surgical procedures.
* Assisting Scrub Nurses and other clinical colleagues within the operating theatre.
* Providing support to patients in the anaesthetic room.
* Safely transporting patients to and from theatre and ward areas.
* Preparing theatre equipment and opening sterile packs in line with clinical protocols.
* Checking, handling and preparing surgical instruments prior to procedures.
* Assisting with stock management, equipment ordering and inventory control.
* Maintaining a clean and safe theatre environment in line with infection prevention and control standards.
* Contributing to the delivery of high-quality patient care and a positive patient experience.
* Supporting the theatre team to ensure theatres operate safely, effectively and efficiently.
