If you are looking to kick start a career in Finance that is rewarding, where you can really make a difference, then come join our Finance Industrial Placement programme. We’re looking for two ambitious and curious undergraduate students to join our Finance team for a 12-month Industrial Placement. This is a fantastic opportunity to build valuable commercial and financial experience while contributing to one of Europe’s largest infrastructure projects. You’ll gain exposure to a range of Finance specialisms, which could include Risk, Audit, Economic Regulation, Investor Relations Tax and Treasury, giving you a broad understanding of how Finance supports major business decisions. What you’ll be doing: As a Finance Industrial Placement Student, you will become part of a dynamic finance function supporting a complex, multi-billion-pound project. You'll work alongside experienced finance professionals, developing practical skills and gaining exposure to a wide range of finance activities. You will support the team with various activities which could include: Financial reporting and analysis Budgeting and forecasting processes Cost management and expenditure tracking Business performance reporting Data analysis and financial modelling Engagement with our shareholders, government and regulators Supporting decision-making through insights and financial information Working with stakeholders across the project to understand financial performance and risks Over the course of this 12-month programme, you'll have the opportunity to immerse yourself in hands-on learning, working on real-world challenges that directly impact the nuclear new build industry. Most of your learning will be on the job, supported by your mentor and the teams around you. You’ll have a chance to apply your academic training to genuine industry problems while completing modules that contribute towards your degree. What We're Looking For: Finance at SZC isn’t just about finance the directorate covers a wide remit including our treasury function, Investor Relations, risk and assurance, corporate strategy and Economic Regulation. We're interested in students who are eager to learn, enjoy solving problems, and can work effectively with a range of stakeholders. To apply, you should: Be studying towards a degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Management, Mathematics or a related discipline Have strong analytical and numerical skills Be confident using Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills Be organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities Security Vetting To be appointed to this role, you will need to meet the criteria for Security Vetting.
