About the Role & Career Pathway Salesian School is seeking a dynamic, energised, and proactive Careers Coordinator to work alongside the Careers Lead in delivering a high-impact, comprehensive careers programme across two school sites. This is a fast-paced, multi-faceted role that goes far beyond traditional office administration. As a core member of the Careers Team, you will actively design and co-deliver engaging events, co-host careers assemblies, manage our digital presence, and build strategic relationships with external employers and parents. We are looking for an assertive, confident communicator who is comfortable with public speaking, adept at managing multiple projects simultaneously, and passionate about inspiring students aged 11–18 to navigate their future pathways. This role is 36 hours per week / 5 days a week / 40 weeks per annum starting on a PS6.3 (FTE £32,216 to £33,952). Salesian School is part of the Xavier Catholic Education Trust. We are a group of schools in the Diocese of Arundel and Brighton who have come together to work collaboratively for the benefit of all the children we serve. Salesian is a co-educational 11-18 Catholic comprehensive school and part of the Xavier Catholic Education Trust. The school ethos is based on the work of Don Bosco, a Salesian priest. Person Specification, Essential Criteria: • Sector Knowledge: Good understanding of the Gatsby Benchmarks and Statutory Guidance relating to Good Careers Guidance in Schools and Colleges. • Public Speaking & Delivery: Confident facilitating workshops, co-hosting careers talks and engaging directly with students, staff, and external partners. • Project & Event Management: Proven ability to manage multi-stage projects (e.g., work experience schemes, career fairs, networking evenings) under tight deadlines. • Digital & Technical Proficiency: Proficient in using databases, spreadsheets, design tools (such as Canva), and professional social media channels (LinkedIn, Instagram) to drive engagement. • Relationship Building: Skilled in building and sustaining networks with external employers, higher education institutions, parents, and internal stakeholders. • Ethos & Inclusivity: Strong commitment to supporting the distinctive Catholic ethos of Salesian School and promoting equal opportunities and inclusion for all students. Desirable Experience: • Experience working within a Careers Education, Advice, and Guidance (CEIAG) role in a secondary school, college, or higher education setting. • Background in Early Careers or Graduate Recruitment within industry.
