Fairoak Primary School Whitchurch Road Cardiff CF14 3JL Teaching Assistant Required for SLCN Early Intervention Class Post No: ED50262658 Contract: Part Time, Temporary Salary: Grade 4 SCP 6-11 (£26,847- £29,071) Pro Rata + ALN allowance Hours: 2 days a week, (Thursday and Friday), 13 hours, 39 weeks per year term time only To start: 4th January 2026 Fairoak Primary School are seeking to appoint an experienced and highly competent Teaching Assistant to work within a Speech and Language Early Intervention Class (EIC). The successful candidate will be required to support access to learning for pupils with SLCN and support the Early Intervention Class teacher in working with parents/carers and home schools as directed. The successful candidate will need to have significant experience of classroom-based support work and experience of working with pupils with Speech, Language and Communication Needs. They will also be able to establish and maintain good working relationships both internally and with parents/external contacts. Under the Education (Wales) Act 2014, all School Learning Support Workers must be registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC).
