Job Description

Herschel Grammar School is seeking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Design and Technology Technician to join our Outstanding Design and Technology Department . This is an exciting opportunity to work in a highly regarded department within a well-resourced and modern workshop, supporting high-quality teaching and learning. The team of teachers and support staff in the department have been working together for several years and provide a very friendly, and supportive environment. Key Responsibilities will include: Preparing, ordering and managing materials and resources required for practical lessons Maintaining machinery, tools and equipment to ensure the highest standards of health and safety Organising and managing the efficient storage of resources Supporting teaching staff and students during practical lessons The ideal candidate will: Have practical workshop experience and a strong awareness of health and safety Be organised, reliable and able to work independently as well as part of a team Knowledge of CAD/CAM , would be an advantage, or if not, a willingness and aptitude to learn how to use these programmes and equipment (Laser cutter / 3D printer) Professional Development: Herschel Grammar School is committed to staff development, and opportunities for additional training are available for the right candidate.
