Fire Sprinkler Fitter Location: Newcastle Rate: £30.00 per hour Job Type: Contract About the Role Are you an experienced Fire Sprinkler Fitter looking for your next opportunity? Technical Resources is partnering with a leading provider of commercial fire protection solutions to hire four Fire Sprinkler Fitters on a contract basis. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation and modification of fire sprinkler systems on a commercial refit project, working primarily with steel pipework and ensuring all installations meet the required specifications and safety standards. Key Responsibilities Sprinkler System Installation: Install, fit and modify fire sprinkler systems in line with drawings, specifications and project requirements. Pipework Installation: Install and connect steel sprinkler pipework, including measuring, cutting, threading/grooving and fitting as required, ensuring correct positioning, levelling, support and secure fixing throughout. Component Installation: Install sprinkler heads, valves, brackets, supports and associated fire protection components to the required standard. Modification & Remedial Works: Carry out alterations, remedial works and modifications to existing sprinkler systems as required during the refit programme. Testing & Quality Checks: Carry out pressure testing, snagging and quality checks to verify installations meet project specifications before handover. Stakeholder Coordination: Coordinate effectively with other trades and site management to ensure works are completed safely, on programme and within specification. Quality & Compliance: Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment in full accordance with site health and safety requirements and relevant fire protection industry standards. Experience & Qualifications Required Essential: Experience: Proven, demonstrable experience as a Fire Sprinkler Fitter, with a track record of installing and modifying sprinkler systems on commercial projects. Technical Skills: Strong hands-on experience working with steel pipework, including threading and grooving, on commercial sites. Project/Operational Scope: Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, layouts and sprinkler installation specifications throughout the works. Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail, focus on quality and safe installation, and the ability to communicate and coordinate effectively with other trades and site management. Mobility & Eligibility: Right to Work in the UK at the time of application. Role is fully site-based in Newcastle. Desirable: Certifications: CSCS Card (required); IPAF licence (beneficial). Sector Background: Prior experience on commercial refit or refurbishment projects; full UK driving licence.
