Learning Support Assistant Essex Scale 4 Point 8-9 Actual salary: £19,568.55 to £19,882.11 per annum Additional fringe allowance - £531.78 per annum 31 hours, 15 minutes per week - Monday to Friday: 8.30am - 3.15pm (30-minute unpaid break for lunch) 38 weeks of the year - term time plus INSET days Start Date: November 2026 Doddinghurst C of E Junior School wishes to appoint a Learning Support Assistant who has a good understanding of child development and learning and would be willing to support children with both their physical and academic needs. You will have a passion for working with pupils and assisting them on their journey. You will need to understand the subjects that you support the children in, be able to demonstrate a fair attitude and apply rules consistently as well as be confident in adjusting learning programs to meet the child’s needs. You will be resilient, hardworking and have excellent de-escalation skills. The successful candidate will be: Passionate, creative, and motivated with a positive outlook, able to remain calm under pressure. Committed to supporting pupils’ learning, behaviour, emotional needs, and overall welfare. Dedicated to raising outcomes for all students through innovation and continuous improvement. A strong communicator with excellent organisational and written skills, able to multi-task effectively. An enthusiastic team player with good classroom management and a commitment to safeguarding.
