Job Description
Do you believe that every child deserves someone who will encourage them, champion them and help them believe in themselves? Do you want a role where the support you give today could spark a child’s confidence, unlock their potential and shape their future? We are looking for a Learning Support Assistant to join our caring, inclusive and child-centred school community. This is an opportunity to be part of the moments that matter: helping a child master a new skill, overcome a challenge, make a friend, find their voice or simply feel that they belong. Every day brings something different. One moment you might be helping a pupil grasp a difficult concept, the next providing reassurance when they’re feeling overwhelmed, celebrating their achievements or helping them take an important step towards greater independence. Through your patience, encouragement and belief in them, you’ll help children grow not only in their learning, but in their confidence, resilience and wellbeing. What you’ll be doing: Supporting individual pupils and small groups to access learning and achieve their potential. Delivering engaging learning activities that build confidence, independence and a love of learning. Helping create a safe, positive and inclusive environment where every child feels valued and supported. Building strong relationships with pupils, families and colleagues. Supporting pupils’ social, emotional and behavioural development. Adapting support to meet individual needs, including those of pupils with SEND. Encouraging positive play, friendships and wellbeing during breaktimes and lunchtimes. Monitoring progress and share observations to help pupils receive the support they need. Contributing to the wider life of the school and its vibrant community. Who we’re looking for: Someone who genuinely enjoys working with children and helping them succeed. Kind, patient and nurturing, with a natural ability to build trust and rapport. A positive role model who brings enthusiasm, encouragement and empathy to every interaction. An excellent communicator who works well with pupils, families and colleagues. Calm, adaptable and resilient when facing challenges. Committed to inclusion and ensuring every child feels seen, heard and valued. A team player who understands that small actions can make a big difference in a child’s life. Passionate about helping children develop the skills, confidence and belief they need to thrive.
