Midday Supervisor and Playtime Assistant Sutton VA Primary is a successful, happy and welcoming school. We are a friendly and inclusive Church School, who have been recognised, in 2025, by the Ofsted Strong Standard for behaviour and personal development. We are seeking to appoint a Midday Supervisor and playtime leader. The appointed person will be responsible, during the lunchtime break, for the supervision, safety, general welfare, leading creative play and conduct of children. Main duties/responsibilities to include: Develop, lead and work as part of a dynamic and committed team. Setting up and clearing away the dining areas of any tables and chairs. The supervision of the children's entry into the dining room. Ensuring dining areas are clean and tidy. Ensuring all safeguarding procedures are followed. Have a good understanding and commitment to equality, diversity and the principles of inclusion. Have a commitment to the importance of play. Organising play/games as appropriate. Supervision of children in the playground or other area of the school as required, dealing with any incidents of inappropriate behaviour in line with the school’s Behaviour Policy. Assisting children who are unwell. Prepared to work inside and outside in all weather conditions. Flexibility is key in this position and you must be comfortable supervising groups using your own initiative. There will be some record keeping required, therefore, you will need a good standard of spoken and written English, preferably GCSE Grade C or above or equivalent. This position will involve lifting tables and chairs, with additional support, therefore the successful applicant will need to be physically fit.
