Job Description
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Fitter with a background in water treatment and wastewater projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance and modification of mechanical equipment across water treatment sites. This is a hands-on position suited to a Mechanical Fitter who is comfortable working around pumps, valves, pipework and process equipment. Key Responsibilities Installation, maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment across water treatment sites. Installation and modification of mechanical pipework, pumps, valves and associated equipment. Mechanical assembly and fitting of process plant. Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance. Fault finding and diagnosing mechanical issues. Working from engineering drawings, specifications and site instructions. Supporting testing and commissioning activities. Carrying out mechanical upgrades and refurbishment works. Working alongside Mechanical Engineers, Electricians, Site Managers and other trades. Ensuring all work is completed safely and to the required quality standards. Completing relevant site documentation and reporting any issues or defects. Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment. Experience Required Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter. Previous experience working within the water treatment, wastewater or utilities sector. Experience working with pumps, valves, pipework and mechanical process equipment. Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings. Strong mechanical fitting and fault-finding skills. Experience with installation, maintenance and commissioning of mechanical equipment. Good understanding of site health and safety requirements. Ability to work independently and as part of a wider site team.
