Job Description

We are looking for a caring and enthusiastic person with proven skills who can provide support for a child with learning needs in Year 2, in the classroom. This post will suit candidates who are committed to working positively in order to provide the best learning opportunities for their pupil and who are committed to developing themselves professionally. Start date: As soon as possible Hours: 10 Hours 30 Minutes per week, term time only (9:00 am – 12.30pm). There is also the possibility of a lunchtime role for 30mins each day (1 hour and 30 mins) This is a fixed term contract until the end of the school year and the hours may increase with funding. Salary: Hay 10 The successful applicant will: • Have excellent communication and personal skills • Have a calm and consistent approach • Ideally have experience of working with SEN pupils • Have a supporting and encouraging manner with young children and an ability to inspire trust and to motivate the child in their care to integrate and learn through play • Have the ability to be flexible and to work as part of a team • Be required to work closely with parents, staff, parents and outside agencies • Be able to use their initiative in meeting the needs of the child and in adapting and/or developing activities and games that support the development of the child’s independent communication and learning skills.
