Role Purpose and
Responsibilities To
establish and maintain calm, positive behaviour so that every pupil can learn,
with any class from Nursery to Year 6. To
deliver lessons planned by the class teacher to whole classes, groups and
individuals, including PPA cover and short-term absence cover; to mark work
from lessons covered; and to deliver interventions. To
ensure their safety and welfare and support the inclusion of pupils in all
aspects of school life. Any
duties as may be reasonably directed by the Headteacher and the
accountabilities expected of support staff at Osmani. Requirements If you can say ‘YES’
to all the questions below, then THIS ROLE could be for you. Are you: Somebody
who holds HLTA status, or is working towards it with a Level 3 qualification or
equivalent experience of supporting whole class learning. Somebody
who can establish calm, positive behaviour with whole classes of any age,
applying the school’s behaviour policy consistently, fairly and firmly. Somebody
with secure knowledge across the primary curriculum who can confidently deliver
lessons planned by the class teacher, lead whole classes independently and
cover teacher absences Somebody
who can direct the work of Learning Support Assistants in the classroom Somebody
who is ICT proficient (able to use Word and Publisher programmes) Somebody
who is flexible, hardworking and passionate about their work Somebody
who is able to work as part of a team. Resilient,
flexible and adaptable Somebody
who enjoys working with children and has some experience of working with
children with Special Education Needs
