Job Description
The role will focus on three key areas: Accelerating progress for pupils whose learning has stalled, through personalised intervention and bespoke teaching approaches. Providing challenge and enrichment for pupils who demonstrate academic aptitude, enabling them to extend their skills and achieve their potential. Re-engaging learners who may be reluctant, anxious, or disengaged from education, using creative, motivating, and relationship-centred approaches. Working closely with teachers, pastoral staff, and senior leaders, the Learning Mentor will help remove barriers to learning while promoting independence, resilience, and positive outcomes. WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE: The successful Learning Mentor will: Demonstrate measurable impact on pupils whose progress has previously stalled. Increase engagement and participation among learners who have become disconnected from education. Enable mathematically able pupils to access greater challenge and achieve higher outcomes. Support pupils in developing confidence, independence, and a positive learning identity. Contribute to an inclusive school culture where every pupil is supported to thrive academically and personally.
