Learning Support Assistant Stepgates School, Chertsey Stepgates School is an inclusive and forward-thinking mainstream primary school with a Specialist Centre for children with Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN), a dedicated Nurture Hub, and a growing neuro-diverse school community. We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic and resilient Learning Support Assistant to join our team and support children with a range of additional needs. The role involves working alongside teachers to support learning, communication, social and emotional development, and may include supporting some pupils with medical, personal care and toileting/intimate hygiene needs. Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:45am to 3:15pm Contract: Fixed Term (1 Year) with a view to becoming permanent Start Date: As soon as possible Term Time + 3 INSET Days We are looking for someone who: • Has GCSE English and Maths (Grade 4/C or equivalent preferable but not essential) • Is passionate about supporting children to achieve their potential • Can build positive relationships with pupils, families and colleagues • Has patience, flexibility and a nurturing approach • Is committed to inclusion and supporting children with a wide range of needs • Is willing to support pupils with medical and personal/intimate hygiene needs • Understands the importance of safeguarding We offer: • Local Government Pension Scheme • Excellent training and professional development opportunities • A supportive and welcoming staff team • Opportunities to develop expertise in SEND, nurture and neurodiversity • Wonderful children who are eager to learn If you are passionate about making a difference and helping every child thrive, we would love to hear from you.
