Ysgol Gyfun Gymraeg Llangynwyd is the only Welsh medium secondary school in the county of Bridgend and as a result of our excellent performance, we are established as a school with high standards and a clear and ambitious vision. This school is located South of the historic village of Llangynwyd, about 10 minutes from junction 36 of the M4. It is easily accessible from Swansea to the West (less than 30 minutes and Cardiff to the East (25 minutes). The person who applies for this position is expected to undertake the following duties: • Lock and unlock school buildings and other areas. • Carry out routine checks of the site and report or escalate any issues to the appropriate person. • Check premises and facilities for cleanliness and condition, undertaking cleaning / maintenance duties during the working day. Collect and assemble waste for collection. • Undertake minor repairs and basic maintenance tasks such as fitting shelves, painting, fixing leaks etc. • Carry out emergency and specialist cleaning tasks. • Operate plant, machinery and equipment (boilers, lighting, water). • Carry out grounds Maintenance tasks such as grass cutting, leaf clearance, litter picking and maintaining hard paved areas. Treat pathways and steps with salt grit and sand when required. • Check and record stock levels to ensure sufficient supplies: soap, paper towels, toilet rolls etc. • Undertake routine compliance checks and audits, maintaining records in line with good working practice. • Transport learners to offsite Education activities • Liaise with external agencies including school lettings. • Assist in undertaking safety audits and risk assessments. • Attend in person and online training sessions to comply with the latest legislation. • Carry out key holder duties and respond to emergency call outs when required. • Any other duties in line with this role A full clean driving license is essential.
