Job Description

We are looking for an experienced and commercially focused Quantity Surveyor to join our clients residential housebuilding team in the East Midlands. Working across a portfolio of new-build residential developments, you will be responsible for managing the commercial performance of developments from pre-construction through to completion. You will work closely with the Construction, Technical, Land and Development teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, to budget and to the required quality standards. This is an excellent opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor looking to develop their career within an established and forward-thinking housebuilder. Key Responsibilities Manage the commercial performance of multiple residential developments from pre-start through to completion. Prepare and manage development budgets, cost plans and cash-flow forecasts. Procure and appoint subcontractors and suppliers in accordance with company procedures. Prepare tender packages, analyse quotations and negotiate competitive rates and terms. Monitor and manage subcontractor costs, variations, valuations and payments. Maintain accurate cost reports and provide regular commercial updates to senior management. Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities throughout the development lifecycle. Review construction programmes and assess their commercial impact. Work closely with Site Managers and Contracts Managers to monitor progress and expenditure. Ensure all contractual and commercial documentation is maintained accurately. Manage final accounts and ensure developments are commercially closed out in a timely manner. Assist with the preparation and review of budgets for new developments. Monitor material costs, labour costs and subcontractor performance.
