Our client is a well-established civil engineering and groundworks contractor specialising in highways, public realm and infrastructure schemes. With a strong pipeline of planned and framework works for major highways service providers and local authorities, they are looking for an experienced Site Agent to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive construction professional who enjoys taking ownership of complex projects, leading site teams and delivering high-quality works in challenging live environments. The Role As Highways Site Agent , you will take responsibility for the successful delivery of highways and public realm projects from mobilisation through to completion and handover. Reporting to the Operations Manager , you will lead site engineers, foremen, gangs, subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, commercially and to programme. You will be involved in everything from construction planning and phasing to NEC4 change management, resource planning, procurement, stakeholder management and commercial performance . Key Responsibilities Lead the delivery of highways and public realm works safely, on programme, within budget and to the required quality standards. Manage site teams, subcontractors and suppliers, coordinating daily activities and resolving operational issues. Develop construction programmes and phased delivery plans that minimise disruption to the public, local businesses and stakeholders. Coordinate traffic management, temporary works, access arrangements, permits and Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders. Manage NEC4 contractual processes, including early warnings and compensation events . Maintain accurate contemporaneous records, including site diaries
