Graduate Quantity Surveyor Newport Working Hours: 37 hours per week Salary: Up to £36,581 per annum Contract: Permanent About the Role We are looking for a motivated and commercially minded Graduate Quantity Surveyor to join a professional construction team in Newport. Working alongside experienced Quantity Surveyors and Project Managers, you will gain practical experience across the full construction project lifecycle, supporting with cost planning, procurement, contract administration, valuations and financial reporting. This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate looking to build a long-term career in Quantity Surveying, with the opportunity to develop your technical and commercial knowledge while working towards professional development and potential RICS accreditation. Key Responsibilities Assist with the preparation of cost estimates, project budgets and cashflow forecasts. Support the development and maintenance of project cost plans and financial records. Assist with measuring and quantifying construction works. Maintain accurate commercial records, cost reports and project documentation. Monitor project expenditure against approved budgets. Support procurement activities, including preparing tender documentation, obtaining quotations and evaluating submissions. Assist with the administration of construction contracts and consultant appointments. Support the preparation and maintenance of contract documentation. Liaise with contractors, consultants and suppliers regarding commercial matters. Develop an understanding of construction contract forms, including NEC and JCT. Support Quantity Surveyors and Project Managers with the commercial management of construction projects. Attend site visits, progress meetings and project reviews as required.
