Your new role Hays Education is seeking experienced Site Supervisors for our primary and secondary schools based in the Blackburn area. In this type of role, you will support the smooth running of the school by assisting with all aspects of site management, including health and safety compliance, site security, cleanliness, porterage duties, routine maintenance, refurbishment work and minor repairs. These temporary positions support various needs across the school, and you will often be working on a shift-based rota or split shift, so flexibility is required. As part of the recruitment process, full educational vetting is required. A DBS registered on the Update Service would be highly advantageous, although we can support you in obtaining one if needed. Duties include Day-to-day supervision of the operational areas, ensuring the buildings and premises are kept to a high standard of cleaning and repair and are safe for all users. Following training to undertake legislative compliance tests and inspections i.e., fire alarm, legionella, emergency lighting etc. Act as a keyholder, carrying out security procedures for the buildings and grounds. Undertake some cleaning tasks, which include window cleaning, corridor and floor buffing. Drawing the attention to maintenance work required around the premises, either supporting minor maintenance internally or organising contractors on site where appropriate. Ensuring that all areas are free from litter and that drains and gutters are free flowing.
