An opportunity has arisen to join an established property and construction consultancy with a strong reputation across the UK. Due to continued growth within the Building Surveying team, they are looking to appoint an Assistant Building Surveyor to join their Birmingham office. The consultancy provides a full range of Building Surveying services to a varied client base, with projects and instructions delivered nationally. This is a client-facing role offering the opportunity to work across a broad range of professional and project-based Building Surveying services. Assistant Building Surveyor Salary & Benefits: 40,000 - 50,000 salary, depending on experience Car allowance 25 days' annual leave Pension Healthcare following successful completion of probation Life insurance Professional subscriptions paid RICS/APC support National project and client exposure Opportunity to develop across a broad range of Building Surveying services Assistant Building Surveyor Job Overview: The successful Assistant Building Surveyor will join an established team and support the delivery of a varied portfolio of Building Surveying instructions. The role will provide exposure to both professional and project work, with opportunities to develop existing technical knowledge and take increasing responsibility for client delivery. The role will include: Condition surveys and building inspections Building pathology and defect diagnosis Dilapidations Party Wall matters Landlord and Tenant work Developing client briefs Preparing specifications and schedules of work Technical and statutory compliance, including Planning and Building Regulations JCT Contract Administration, including Minor Works and Intermediate contracts Supporting project delivery from inception through to completion Liaising with clients, contractors and other professional consultants Attending site and client meetings Preparing reports and profession
