Team Leader / Ganger / Foreman

Job Purpose To lead and coordinate a small team of operatives on site, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to the required quality and programme. Key Responsibilities Lead and supervise a team of construction operatives. Allocate daily tasks and organise the workforce effectively. Ensure work is carried out in accordance with drawings, specifications and method statements. Maintain high standards of health, safety and housekeeping on site. Carry out site briefings and toolbox talks where required. Check that workers have the correct tools, equipment and materials. Monitor progress and report any delays, issues or changes to the Site Supervisor. Coordinate with other trades, subcontractors and site teams. Identify and report hazards, defects or unsafe working practices. Assist with setting out and general construction activities where required. Ensure materials and equipment are used correctly and efficiently. Maintain accurate records and complete relevant site documentation. Support the Site Supervisor/Manager in achieving programme and quality requirements. Essential Requirements Previous experience working as a Ganger, Chargehand or experienced construction operative. Good knowledge of construction site practices. Strong understanding of health and safety requirements. Ability to lead and motivate a team. Good communication and organisational skills.
