MetroGuard Oxford ltd MetroGuard Oxford Ltd | Full-time and part-time opportunities MetroGuard is recruiting experienced Door Supervisors to work at bars and licensed venues across the Bristol area. With over 300 venues nationwide, including bars, restaurants and hotels, we offer opportunities to develop your experience and work with established security teams. You will work closely with venue staff and receive support from your local Area Manager. About the role You will help keep customers and staff safe, manage entry to the venue, and provide a professional, welcoming service. The role requires sound judgement, strong communication skills and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations. Key responsibilities Manage entry and exit points, check identification and assess customers’ suitability for admission. Carry out searches in line with venue policies and procedures. Monitor customer behaviour and manage crowds to maintain a safe environment. Handle enquiries, resolve conflict and enforce venue rules professionally. Patrol the venue and identify potential hazards or security concerns. Respond to incidents and emergencies, working with venue staff and emergency services when required. Complete accurate incident reports and shift records. Essential requirements A valid SIA Door Supervisor licence. You must provide a complete five-year employment and education history, including details of any gaps more than 31 days, and supporting documents and references for vetting. At least 12 months’ experience working as security in bars or licensed venues. Event security experience alone does not meet this requirement. Excellent communication and customer service skills. The ability to remain calm, professional and alert under pressure. A smart appearance and reliable approach to work. The ability to carry out duties involving prolonged standing and walking. Reliable transport to and from shifts, or accommodation locally. Working arrangements Full-time and part-time opportunities. Long shifts available. Roles are offered on an employed basis.
