EARLY YEARS LEARNING ASSISTANT Job Role: Early Years Learning Assistant Salary: Scale 3 (FTE £29,436.00 per annum — actual salary pro-rata for 2 days per week) Working Pattern: Thursday and Friday Location: Selwyn Primary School, Cecil Road, Plaistow, London, E13 0EQ Closing Date: 8th October 2026 About the School Welcome to Selwyn Primary School, an Outstanding-rated primary school in Newham, where every child is encouraged to thrive and achieve their very best. About the Role The role involves supporting children’s learning, development, wellbeing, and inclusion within the Early Years environment. This includes assisting with learning activities, supporting children with SEND and individual needs, promoting positive behaviour and independence, maintaining a safe and stimulating classroom, and providing appropriate personal care when required. The role also involves working closely with teachers, the SENCO, parents, and other professionals, following safeguarding procedures, and contributing to the smooth day-to-day running of the classroom. To thrive in this position, holding a Level 3 Early Years/Childcare qualification (or equivalent) is essential , alongside a genuine passion for early childhood development and a commitment to helping every child reach their full potential.
