Youth Support and Wellbeing Co-Ordinator - Younify Role Overview Deliver and coordinate an inclusive, trauma-informed youth support programme for young people aged 15–25. The role focuses on organising and facilitating support across youth work, creative wellbeing, and therapeutic services, ensuring young people receive the right support at the right time. You will act as a central point of coordination, supporting young people directly, arranging services, and working closely with therapists, partner agencies, and internal teams to maintain a safe, responsive and well-organised programme. Younify Project Overview Younify is an early intervention project supporting girls and young women aged 15–26 experiencing mental health challenges. The programme includes: Up to 6 sessions of 1:1 youth work support to build trust, reduce barriers, and introduce therapeutic support Up to 10 sessions with a therapist using integrative and creative approaches A creative peer support group offering ongoing, low-level support after completing the programme Key Responsibilities Programme Delivery & Coordination Deliver structured 1:1 and group-based youth work sessions, providing consistent, person-centred support Coordinate young people’s journey through the programme, including referrals, onboarding, and transitions into therapy or other services Act as a key point of contact for young people, helping them navigate services and stay engaged Arrange and coordinate input from therapists, partners, and internal colleagues Support & Engagement Build trusting relationships with young people facing a range of challenges including anxiety, depression, trauma, neurodiversity, and complex life circumstances Provide practical and emotional support, helping young people overcome barriers to engagement (e.g. transport, access to services, basic needs) Use trauma-informed, person-centred approaches and creative engagement methods to support wellbeing Facilitate a safe and supportive environment, responding appropriately to behaviour that challenges Safeguarding & Risk Management Assess needs and risks, completing safeguarding and risk assessment processes in line with GHS procedures Support young people in distress, including safety planning and responding to self-harm or suicidal ideation Work closely with safeguarding leads and external agencies to ensure appropriate support is in place Partnership Working & Signposting Coordinate referrals and maintain communication with partners including CAMHS, schools, social care, social prescribers, and other services Advocate for young people to ensure they can access appropriate support Support smooth multi-agency working by organising communication and follow-up actions Monitoring & Administration Maintain accurate records, session notes, and reporting for funders Track engagement and outcomes to support programme monitoring and evaluation Contribute information and feedback to support ongoing service improvement Team Contribution Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team Share learning and practical insights from delivery Participate in regular supervision and reflective practice (every 6 weeks) Contribute to a positive, organised and supportive team environment Person Specification Essential Knowledge & Experience Experience of working directly with young people aged 15-25 in a youth work, community, education, wellbeing, mental health or related setting. Experience of delivering one-to-one and/or group-based support. Understanding of safeguarding responsibilities and experience of recognising, responding to and reporting safeguarding concerns. Experience of supporting young people with a range of needs and challenges, including mental health difficulties, anxiety, low mood, trauma, neurodiversity, social isolation, or complex life circumstances. Experience of working alongside other organisations and professionals to support individuals. Experience of maintaining accurate records, case notes and monitoring information. Experience of planning, organising and coordinating activities, appointments or support programmes. Essential Skills & Abilities Ability to build trusting, positive relationships with young people. Strong communication and listening skills. Ability to engage young people who may be reluctant, anxious or difficult to reach. Ability to manage a varied workload and prioritise competing demands. Ability to work calmly and effectively when supporting young people experiencing distress or crisis. Ability to complete risk assessments and contribute to safety planning. Ability to maintain professional boundaries while providing compassionate support. Good administration and organisational skills. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a wider team. Competent IT skills, including use of email, case recording systems and Microsoft Office applications.
