Commissioning Engineer (BAFE Approved) – Contract Location: Slough Duration: 1 month + possible extension Rate: £400–£420 per day Working Pattern: 30 consecutive days The Role We’re looking for an experienced BAFE Approved Fire Alarm Commissioning Engineer for a data centre project based in Slough. The engineer must be BAFE registered and authorised to issue official BAFE SP203-1 commissioning certificates and handover documentation upon completion of the works. The successful engineer must also have strong hands-on commissioning experience with Advanced fire alarm panels and Xtralis VESDA systems, as both systems are installed on site. Key Responsibilities •    Commission and test Advanced fire alarm systems •    Commission, configure and test Xtralis VESDA systems •    Carry out functional testing and verification of fire detection and alarm systems •    Identify, diagnose and resolve faults or commissioning issues •    Ensure systems are commissioned in accordance with BS 5839-1, project specifications and relevant standards •    Complete all required commissioning records and test documentation •    Issue official BAFE SP203-1 commissioning certificates and associated handover documentation •    Work closely with the site and project teams to complete commissioning and handover activities •    Ensure all works are completed safely and in accordance with data centre site procedures Essential Experience & Certification Candidates must: •    Be a BAFE-registered/approved Commissioning Engineer •    Be suitably authorised and able to issue official BAFE SP203-1 commissioning certificates and handover documentation •    Provide evidence of their relevant BAFE qualifications/certification •    Have proven experience commissioning Advanced fire alarm panels •    Have proven experience commissioning Xtralis VESDA systems •    Have the relevant software required to commission Xtralis VESDA systems •    Have previous experience working within a data centre environment •    Have a strong understanding of BS 5839-1 and fire alarm commissioning requirements •    Be confident completing all required commissioning, certification and handover documentation •    Be available to work 30 consecutive days Contract Details •    £400–£420 per day •    1-month initial contract •    Potential for extension •    30 consecutive days •    Site-based in Slough Please note: Advanced fire alarm, Xtralis VESDA and BAFE SP203-1 certification experience are mandatory requirements for this position. Candidates must be able to issue the required BAFE SP203-1 commissioning certification on completion of the works.
