Details Salary: Grade 4 Contract: Temporary Hours: 9 Hours per week Shift Pattern: Monday, Thursday & Friday 3pm - 6pm. Thornton Primary School has a place for you! Experience within wraparound care is desirable but not essential. On-the-job training can be provided. You Will: Deliver high-quality activities Build excellent relationships with parents, carers and colleagues Follow school and Ofsted standards and expectations Encourage children to explore their interests through enriching activities Help children build confidence and develop social and fundamental skills Job Purpose To be responsible to the Head Teacher for the organisation and provision of high quality activities for pupils after the end of the normal school day. Main Duties and Responsibilities: Plan activities appropriate to the age and ability of the group. Promote, create and maintain an appropriate ethos that attracts and encourages pupils. Monitor and evaluate activities, prepare brief written reports when necessary. Supervise, support and assist pupils undertaking activities, ensuring that all have equal opportunity to develop their individual and team skills. Be aware at all times of appropriate health and safety procedures. Attend staff meetings as required. Organise equipment and accommodation. Quietly refer any instance of unacceptable behaviour or concerns they may have about pupils to the Head Teacher. If pupils leave after-school club before 6pm, you will be required to clean the hall and kitchen area adjacent to the hall. Mop up spillages and accidents with the use of appropriate materials/equipment. Comfort and supervise pupils who are ill or have had an accident administering to their needs, as appropriate and referring to the nominated teacher and/or First Aider ensuring that accidents are recorded appropriately. Be aware and apply the school’s policies and procedures. Being aware of confidentiality issues linked to home/pupil/teacher/school work and to keep confidences as appropriate Participating in appropriate school-based meetings and training activities within contracted hours. Undertake any other curricula duties which may reasonably be regarded as within the nature of the duties and responsibilities/grade of the post as defined, subject to the proviso that any changes of a permanent nature shall be incorporated into the job description in specific terms, following consultation with the Recognised Trade Unions.
