The role Student Learning support officer We are seeking an enthusiastic, creative and highly organised individual to join our dedicated team as a Student Learning support officer within a high school in Newport. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting our students to achieve their academic, personal and future aspirations. You will work closely with students, teaching staff, pastoral teams and families to provide high-quality support, encouragement and guidance throughout their sixth-form journey. We are looking for someone who is approachable, proactive and passionate about helping young people succeed. The role will involve supporting students with their learning, organisation, attendance, study skills and personal development, while helping them to develop the confidence, independence and resilience needed for further education, employment and adult life. The successful candidate will be able to build positive relationships with young people, identify barriers to learning and provide practical and creative solutions to help students overcome them. Excellent organisational and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to work effectively as part of a wider team.
