Teaching Assistant (Learning Support 1.2) Grade GO1 (SCP 3-4) Start Date: As soon as possible Contract: Fixed-term until 31 August 2027 Hours: 27.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday Working Pattern: Term Time Only plus 4 additional days Actual Salary: £16,627 - £16,888 per annum (FTE £25,614 - £26,016 per annum) Join Our Team at Argoed High School Argoed High School is a highly successful 11-16 comprehensive school with an excellent reputation within the local community. We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, compassionate and motivated Teaching Assistant to provide support for pupils with additional learning needs. The successful candidate will work closely with students who have a range of Additional Learning Needs helping them to access learning, achieve their potential and fully engage in school life. This rewarding role involves supporting individual pupils and small groups, working collaboratively with teaching staff and contributing to a positive, inclusive learning environment. Essential Criteria The successful candidate will demonstrate: • Enthusiasm, commitment and flexibility. • Experience of working with pupils with a range of Additional Learning Needs (ALN). • A clear understanding of confidentiality and safeguarding responsibilities. • Excellent organisational and time management skills. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. • The ability to work effectively with teaching staff and other professionals. • The ability to work independently and as part of a team. • NVQ Level 2 in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent), or willingness to work towards this qualification. • GCSE qualifications (or equivalent) in English, Mathematics and Science.
