Premises Officer and Handy Person

An opportunity has arisen at Medway Community Primary School for a reliable and flexible Handyperson to join our team, who is keen to make a difference and assist with maintaining the premises and grounds to a high standard. It is a part time role - 19 Hours per week, Monday to Thursday 2.00pm to 6.00pm and Friday 3.00pm to 6.00pm  - 52 weeks per year. LG 4, SCP 10 Job overview As a key part of our site team, you’ll have responsibility for general site maintenance, using a varied skillset to carry out tasks such as cleaning, refilling consumables, repairs/maintenance and manual handling, as well as ensuring the site is in a good condition for all to work and learn effectively. • Tackling day-to-day repairs • Teaming up with the site manager to keep things safe and running smoothly • Completing simple Health & Safety checks • Tidying up the playgrounds and outdoor areas • Help set up rooms and shifting equipment • Cleaning and checking in with the cleaning team to ensure all jobs are completed • Responding to occasional alarm call-outs • To supervise any external contractors working on site • Receive and deliver goods and supplies around the school Job requirements • Practical and hands-on approach • Good standard of maintenance and DIY experience with an understanding of health and safety parameters • Experience of working within an operational environment to provide day-to-day maintenance support • Ability to prioritise and plan own workload Why join us?
