Job Description

Trainee Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer

Yolk Recruitment is supporting a leading manufacturing business in Pontypool with the recruitment of a Trainee Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer.

This is an excellent opportunity for a newly qualified, apprentice-trained engineer who is looking to build a long-term career in manufacturing maintenance. You will join a supportive and experienced Engineering team, receiving structured training, mentoring and hands-on development as you progress towards becoming a fully competent multiskilled maintenance engineer.

The successful candidate must have a strong electrical foundation. As a minimum, you will need to hold an NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent Level 3 electrical qualification. Candidates who have completed a dual-skilled or multiskilled apprenticeship with a recognised electrical qualification are also encouraged to apply.

Initially, the role will have a strong focus on planned preventative maintenance. You will shadow experienced engineers, develop your understanding of the site and its equipment, and gradually build your confidence across electrical fault-finding, reactive maintenance and mechanical maintenance activities.

This is a key development role and forms part of a wider group initiative, so the successful person will receive genuine investment, support and attention throughout their progression.
