Part-time School Admin/Receptionist Salary : £12.87- £13.22 per hour Category : Administrative / Clerical Position Type : Permanent Part-Time Location : Ryefields School, Derby Hours : 16 per week Make a Real Difference at Ryefields Do you want to be part of a school where every detail matters and every interaction makes a difference? Ryefields is seeking an Administrator/Receptionist to provide a professional, welcoming and efficient administrative service that helps our school run smoothly and supports pupils, families and colleagues every day. This is a 16-hour-per-week role, ideally worked Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, 8.00am–12.00pm, although we would consider a two-day working pattern or alternative arrangement for the right candidate. This is a varied, people-focused role where you will be a key point of contact for families, visitors and professionals, while ensuring school systems, records and communication are accurate, organised and confidential. The Role You will: Provide a welcoming reception and administrative service to pupils, families, visitors and colleagues Maintain accurate school records, databases and management information systems Support attendance, admissions, EHCP processes, reviews, examinations and other key school functions Prepare letters, reports, meeting documents and correspondence Manage telephone enquiries, emails, post, diaries and appointments Support student health, medication, first aid and welfare administration Maintain confidentiality and follow safeguarding and data protection procedures Support audits, inspections and statutory reporting requirements Build positive relationships with families, colleagues and external professionals Identify ways to improve administrative systems and processes Who We're Looking For We're looking for someone who is organised, approachable, reliable and committed to providing an excellent service. You will have: Previous administrative experience, ideally in education, care or a customer-focused environment Strong written and verbal communication skills Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail Confidence using Microsoft Office and digital record-keeping systems An understanding of confidentiality, data protection and safeguarding The ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively as part of a team A calm, flexible and solution-focused approach A commitment to equality, diversity and positive outcomes for all pupils Experience supporting pupils with SEND, medical administration or first aid would be advantageous, although training can be provided where required.
