The Hive College is based in Erdington, Birmingham and is a Specialist Further Education College for learners aged 19-25 years with Special Educational Needs and disabilities. As part of our on-going development of a highly successful specialist college, we have a Community Engagement Coach vacancy to join our team of professional and dedicated people. The college is a very happy and positive working environment. All staff are friendly and very supportive, we have excellent facilities and a superb environment to support teaching and learning and prepare our students for adulthood. We offer three individualised study programmes for students with PMLD, SLD, MLD and ASD. Our study programmes focus on preparation for adulthood, which include: Employment Independent living Good health Friends, relationships and community The right candidate will have: An NVQ Level 3 Vocational or Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent), plus minimum GCSE English and Maths Grade C and above (or equivalent) A good understanding of how students learn and develop in education The ability to support the work placement team in meeting the needs of all students, including mentoring, pastoral care and assisting with the physical care of students as and when required The ability to work with individuals and small groups of students Excellent communication and written skills with high expectations of learning and behaviour The skills to support students in the workplace and whilst out in the community If you are determined, hardworking and think that working at our Trust might be for you, then we would love to hear from you.
