THE GOVERNORS WISH TO APPOINT A Clerk to the Governing Body The successful applicant would be required to attend approximately 7 full governing body meetings each academic year. Salary is per meeting: £185 per full Governing Body meeting £50 per Committee meeting The Clerk to the Governors is central to the smooth running of the Governing Body: preparing agendas, taking and distributing minutes, offering administrative support, keeping records and giving procedural and legislative advice to the Governing Body. Clerks must have excellent organisation, communication and ICT skills, as well as an ability to take accurate minutes at meetings. Job Role: The clerk to the governing body will be accountable to the governing body, working effectively with the Chair of Governors, and with the Head Teacher and other governors. The clerk will be responsible for advising the Governing Body on constitutional matters, duties and powers and will work within the broad current legislative framework. He/she will secure the continuity of Governing Body business and observe confidentiality requirements. Full details of the role and our expectations are given on the attached job description.
